CAMP SPIRIT SONG
Camp Spirit Song is offered in partnership with the SpiritWorks Foundation to give the gift of a camp experience to children in Province III affected by the opioid addiction of a parent or other close loved one. 2019 is the inaugural year of Camp Spirit Song, and the first camp program of its kind on the east coast, and we ask your prayers and support for our ministry this summer.
Camp provides children grades 4-8 with an opportunity to meet God through:
● the support of a Christian community
● fellowship with peers who share a common experience
● time to rest and play away from the distractions of everyday life
It is our mission to offer to Camp Spirit Song at no cost to campers’ families. You can help make camp a reality for 40 campers this year by sponsoring a camper. $1,000 covers the cost of one camper, including room and board, program materials, and staff fees. Individuals, parishes, and dioceses may donate directly toward camper sponsorship. St. Andrew’s Parish in Glenwood, Maryland, has committed to sponsoring the cost of one camper.
To make or pledge a contribution toward Camp Spirit Song, contact Lisa Marie Ryder, co-Executive Director of the Claggett Center: (301) 874-5147; lmryder@claggettcenter.org.

ESTATE
Estate Giving
What if you could support the work of SpiritWorks Foundation in the future without committing any money today? A gift through your estate can one day help us carry out our work to grow the recovery advocacy movement. It’s easy – you can name SpiritWorks Foundation as a beneficiary of specific assets, of a portion of your estate, or of your residual estate. The following assets provide an easy and tax-efficient way to make a bequest and provide the flexibility to be modified if your circumstances change:
Retirement plan such as an IRA, 401(k) or 403(b)
Life insurance policy
Financial accounts such as bank or brokerage account or a certificate of deposit (CD)
Your estate gift will assure that SpiritWorks Foundation is here to serve future generations. Contact Jan Brown, Executive Director, at jan@spiritworksfoundation.org or call (757) 903-0000.
Charitable IRA Rollovers
If you’re age 70½ or older, you can make contributions directly from your IRA Required Minimum Distribution (RMD) to qualified charitable organizations without owing any income tax on the distributions.
A charitable IRA rollover can be a great way to comply with the RMD requirement without triggering the tax liability that would occur if the RMD were paid to you.
For EIN number and necessary information for distribution contact Lauren McDonald at lauren@spiritworksfoundation.org
